Off to The Empire State
Specifically The Hampton's... This is a Long Awaited Trip for us, and we are all tremendously excited to see all the sights! Being a Huge Ina fan, I am looking forward to visiting all the culinary hot spots that we see her visiting on The Barefoot Contessa! These include Little Bakeries and Charming Farmers Markets with locally grown Summer Treats. Especially thrilled about visiting the seaside town of Montauk at the farthest tip of Long Island, beyond The Hamptons, it is where all the boats bringing the freshest seafood come in and out.
Of course I will be looking at Houses and taking pictures and bringing them all home to show everyone. I know that typical Hampton's Architecture is something most of us love! While there, we will also be visiting the Hampton's Show House sponsored by Traditional Home Magazine. This is sort of a business trip for us, but we will manage to make it fun as well.
Even though I was raised in the South, my roots are in New York, and I am simply driven to go back once or twice a year. After looking at the weather up there, I have surmised that summering there is a better idea then summering here! I will let you know.
